We recommend arriving at least one day before the wedding to settle in, relax, and enjoy the beatufy of the region before the celebration begins.
A car is not required for your visit, though it is highly recommended for guests wishing to explore more of the Czech Republic, charming villages, and the surrounding countryside at their own pace.If you plan to spend time in Prague, we do not recommend having a car while in the city. Prague is best experienced on foot and by public transportation, and parking can be difficult and expensive in the historic center, where narrow streets and winding lanes were never designed for modern traffic. For guests continuing on to South Moravia after visiting Prague, renting a car can be an excellent option. Alternatively, South Moravia is also easily accessible by train. For guests planning to drive, an International Driving Permit (IDP) is also recommended. While a valid US driver's license is generally accepted, the IDP serves as an official translation and can be helpful when renting a vehicle or if assistance is ever needed.US guests may apply through AAA
Guests may reach Lednice by rental car, uber, or train, depending on their travel plans. Prague is a wonderful option for those wishing to explore the Czech republic before traveling onward to South Moravia.travel time from Prague Airport to Lednice 2 hours 30 minutes (170 miles), 3 hours 30 minutes by train (1 transfer in Brno)Brno-Turany Airport is the closest airpot to Lednice, and can be a convenient option for guests comfortable with a connecting flight.travel time from Brno Airport to Lednice 30 minutes (35 miles) by car, 30 minutes by train (direct)Vienna offers the widest range of international flights and is another popular option, followed by a scenic drive into South Moravia.travel time from Vienna Airport to Lednice 80 minutes (64 miles), 1 hour 30 minutes by train (1 transfer)Prague is an excellent option for guests who would like to explore before the wedding. We plan to spend time there ourselves before continuing on to Lednice and highly recommend experiencing the city's rich history, architecture, and atmosphere. One travel option we suggest: Flight into PragueSpend a few days exploring the cityTake a direct train from Prague to Brno (no transfers required)Uber, taxi, or rent a car for the 30-minute journey to LedniceThis autumn, we will be making the trip ourselves and will share detailed recommendations with you afterwards.
